Mission

We are a community-based, non-profit organization, created to work and ensure the well-being and integral development of the neighborhood and its people using the participation of its inhabitants as the main mechanism.

Vision

We aspire to be a catalytic agent that integrates and mobilizes residents and collaborators in the efforts to have a community that develops to the maximum its human and socio-cultural potential; preserving and protecting a healthy and sustainable environment that promotes social integration, a sense of belonging and self-identity, community participation, cooperativism, solidarity, aesthetics and diversity. Self-management and individual and collective social responsibility are valued pillars on which the community we want is built and we will leave others as an inheritance.

Luis Rodríguez Sánchez es un compositor y cantautor puertorriqueño.  Estudió guitarra con los maestros Juan Sorroche e Iván Rijos y composición con el Dr. Carlos Cabrer obteniendo un bachillerato en humanidades con concentración en música de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Fue co- fundador de la primera cooperativa de cantautores de Puerto Rico participando de ocho producciones discográficas. Co-fundador del grupo de música afro caribeña Iyawó, completa una maestría en composición para música orquestal  de la Universidad de Massachusetts dirigido por los profesores Dr. Bruce Maccombie y Dr. Salvatore Macchia. Ha sido profesor en el departamento de música de la Universidad de Puerto Rico y director musical del Festival de la Palabra. Actualmente es responsable de la producción y composición anual del proyecto en clave de poesía que va por su cuarta ediciónLuis Rodriguez está terminando de grabar su nuevo disco Fronteras líquidas.

Christine Nieves is the co-director of Proyecto Apoyo Mutuo Mariana. While attending the University of Pennsylvania as an undergrad she co-hosted and produced a TV show for Telemundo Philadelphia. She then pursued her masters in evidence-based social intervention at Oxford. Christine worked at Robert Wood Johnson Foundation where she funded disruptive innovations in health and then turned her knowledge into an undergraduate class at Florida State University. At FSU she was the first latina and youngest Entrepreneur in Residence to be part of the Council of Entrepreneurship. Born in England and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico she now resides in the mountainous region of Mariana, Humacao
